Fr. Gabriel, I am very grateful for this insight. I do recall when St. Paisios of Mt. Athos (his Feast day was last week) said that there are two rules regarding thoughts: I) to think the positive- like a "bee". A bee always looks for beautiful nectar-producing flowers to pollinate, ignoring the "bad" ones. II) to treat the mind as an "airport"- let the good thoughts land and the bad ones depart. Thoughts are called 'Logismoi'- and we can always be free to choose what to accept, entertain, and become!
Thank you for sharing this very helpful talk with us. May God give you good strength and guidance in your new Abbacy. 🙏💗
